Not saving

description

I used the program before, and had no problems with it. I love it, to be honest.

But lately I'm having an issue where it just doesn't save anymore. No matter what I do, it just does nothing.

If I click on "Save", the loading bar appears, but doesn't load anything. If I click on "Save as", it does nothing.
I tried switching between SRT and ASS, but it's exactly the same. Also, I can't change the name to be saved (don't remember if that was even possible). It's "label1", always.

Apparently, noone is having this issue, which makes me wonder if there's something wrong in my computer.

PS: I downloaded several different versions and the same happens again and again.

Thanks.

In options you can set the Output Directory - is this set somewhere that doesn't exist any more causing the problem?

If you want to store the output file in the same directory as the Sup or Idx/Sub file inputs there's a checkbox for that but if that source directory is read-only you'll also have a problem.

Yes, I tried changing that, but to no effect. The directory existed before, so that wasn't the problem.

Also, the three options where you have to select Line Breaks and position, I always have to select one. Nothing is selected by default. Is that normal?

Thanks for the quick answer.

This is not normal. It tells my that your Options settings file is the problem. It's found under "c:\users\<yourloginname>\AppData\local\DvdSubExtractor" if you're on Windows 7 or 8. Maybe this file got deleted or made read-only. I'd say delete this directory while the program isn't running, then run the program and reset your options.

I deleted the folder while the program wasn't running, and it didn't change anything. I still have to select one option since none is selected by default.

Inside that folder I found another one called "DvdSubExtractor.exe_Url_tlto4sd4uh0agqvv3qbmogetlsc320qu". Is that normal? Maybe the name is wrong.

Ok, I just found something. In my desktop appeared an "ExceptionLog.txt" file. And inside, it says "Caracteres no válidos en la ruta de acceso", which means, "Invalid characters in access route". That is linked to a "mscorlib" file.

Just so you know, my operative system is in spanish (x64 Windows 7).

Thanks

Maybe try copying it somewhere other than your desktop and running it. Create a folder under your Documents folder and put the files there for example. I'm guessing the exception message is exactly correct, but which file or directory has the invalid characters is the question.

I tried but didn't change anything.

Do I need to install some software to make it work?

Ok. I've got some news. Apparently is the file what is causing troubles, as I tried with another one, and it worked flawlessly.

I'll try to convert it to other format before loading it. Thanks.
